Immutable zkEVM Testnet Rebuilding Will Launch On November 20th

Immutable plans to rebuild the Immutable zkEVM testnet starting from November 20th. The upgrade of the Immutable zkEVM client has been announced recently, and the team has been working diligently to deliver on the product roadmap. The new Ethereum client is now ready for Testnet, and on November 20th AEDT, the Immutable zkEVM Testnet will undergo a regenesis to transition to a Geth-based client.

During the regenesis period from November 20th to 23rd AEDT, the Testnet and its services will be temporarily unavailable. This time will be utilized by the team to upgrade platform integrations, EVM monitoring, transaction relayer, and more to ensure optimal functionality with the new client. However, Testnet, along with all its features, will be fully back online by November 24th AEDT.

Immutable zkEVM Testnet Rebuilding

After the regenesis is complete, developers using Immutable zkEVM will need to re-deploy their smart contracts and re-mint their assets on the Testnet. The process for deploying contracts and minting assets will remain the same.

If developers have any smart contracts deployed or assets minted, they will need to be re-submitted once the Testnet is up and running again on November 24th AEDT. To minimize interruption in the development process, developers are advised to redeploy their smart contracts, remint their assets, and keep an eye on the changelog of UnifiedSDK to use the most recent version.

According to the firm, this rebuild of the Immutable zkEVM testnet is a critical step towards the ultimate goal of launching the Immutable zkEVM Mainnet, which remains the top priority for the team.
