New Korean Cryptocurrency Reality TV Show

A South Korean reality TV show focusing on crypto investors, Bitcoin (BTC) enthusiasts and miners has been shown on screens across the country.

The main purpose of this new South Korean crypto reality show is to show people the fortunes and potential risks of investing in cryptocurrencies.

New Korean reality TV show about cryptocurrencies

The show first aired this week on TVChosun, the television arm of the nation’s largest media company, Chosun, titled Man using His Wife’s Credit Card, Newsis reported. It was presented by Lee Hwi-jae and Park Myung-su, two of the most popular TV MCs in the country.

The first episode featured a famous couple – comedian Hong Hyun-hee and her interior designer and YouTuber husband Jason. The second was an avid crypto investor and a group of cameras followed them to crypto “study groups”.

Hong has tried her hand at cryptocurrency trading – and is experiencing the joys and pains of fluctuating token prices. And the couple met with a cryptocurrency miner who explained how they make money from token mining.

In a promotional video for the series, Hong is also shown walking a member of her family through his steps on a cryptocurrency exchange.

Tensions mounted as the couple tried to make quick profits from a trading app in a television studio. Jason saw his crypto earnings on his holdings grow up to 400%, but after the price fell, his returns fell to just 70% of his deposit.

A member of the show’s production team is quoted as saying:

“We wanted to explore the trends that are changing lifestyle and provide some information on safe and profitable crypto investments. We hope this is a great opportunity for investors and prospective investors across the country to learn about cryptocurrencies. “

According to data from Nielson Korea, the show achieved a respectable 5.4% audience rating. The next episode is slated to air next week.

Crypto got a lot of screen time on Korean screens later that year: Twenty Hacker, a big movie about a hack on a fictional cryptocurrency exchange, was recently released in cinemas and cinemas on local and international streaming platforms – and with K-Pop starring Viini, Cho Hyun-young, Im Na-young and Lee Su-woong.
