Although the tech entrepreneur’s company has announced that it will use Ethereum for its NFT line, Dorsey remains loyal to Bitcoin – and only Bitcoin.
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has once again demonstrated his strong loyalty to Bitcoin by seemingly reducing Ethereum – even though his company appears to be finding value in the second largest cryptocurrency on the market.
Twitter today released its own collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). NFTs are unique digital tokens that are mainly created over the Ethereum network and can represent anything online, e.g. B. works of art, audio or video content.
The 140 NFTs posted on Twitter today are mostly moving images of the company logo. The social media platform says it will be giving them away for free, but then users can sell them on the Ethereum-based NFT marketplace Rarible.
But despite the issuance of Ethereum-based tokens, said Dorsey, a bitcoin maximist (someone who only believes in the value of bitcoin and avoids all other altcoins is often referred to as “shitcoins”). He wouldn’t personally invest in Ethereum.
Following news from Twitter NFT, a self-proclaimed “developer and investor” named “packanimalETH” tweeted that Dorsey’s investment in Ethereum was “only a matter of time”.
No.

And Dorsey replied with a single word:
“Are not.”
The CEO’s contrary thinking has not escaped Twitter watchers like Adam Cochran, partner in venture capital firm Cinneamhain Ventures:
“With this level of intellectual fitness, I’m surprised he won’t represent the United States at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo this year.”
Jack is still a BTC Maxi as long as that @Twitter prints Ethereum-based NFTs @rariblecom.
At this level of mental gymnastics, I’m surprised that he won’t represent the US at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo this year … https://t.co/l1amwckP6n

This is not the first time Dorsey has made it clear that he will only invest his money in Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. Dorsey told attendees at a Bitcoin conference in Miami earlier this month:
“All other coins, no effect on any other coins. He still intends to make Bitcoin “the local currency for the Internet,” he said and does not want anything to do with other cryptocurrencies or their associated networks.
Strangely, however, it was Dorsey himself who only sold his first tweet as NFT for $ 2.9 million in Ethereum in March. (Though he said he converted that amount into bitcoin immediately before donating to charity.)
