Backwoods is a game on Solana that is built on the “kill monsters to upgrade your weapons” model. It’s a beautiful-looking pixel-art game set in an eerie forest with Eldetree, the giant tree glowing with mystical energy at the heart.
You play as a Nightville villager tasked with defending Eldetree against monsters. The game draws attention within the crypto community due to its entertaining gameplay, not to mention that airdrop opportunities may arise in case of the official token launch. Moreover, it’s followed by Solana Foundation’s X and appears to be on good terms with Tensor, the developing team for the Solana NFT exchange.

The game graphics of Backwoods are amazingly pixelated, and the gameplay is similar to the all-time famous Vampire Survivors with hundreds of millions of downloads on Steam. Players are given many weapons to upgrade their characters and fight against monsters. Backwoods is in the open-alpha stage now (starting from the 24th of May). You can play free to earn points and receive airdrop when the token is officially launched.

If you did not have a Hero NFT, you would be able to amass a maximum of 2,000 points per play. Having a Hero NFT doubles your amount of points gained. Each player may gain up to 4,000 points per play. Since there is a limit of 4 plays per day, having a Hero NFT will mean that you will now be able to earn 16,000 points daily.
The specific NFT Hero classifications are as follows:
The Backwoods game features two in-game tokens: LEAF and SEED. Players earn these tokens by completing quests and overcoming challenges. Both tokens can be used to upgrade equipment and participate in various in-game activities. Here are some key differences between them:
Although Backwoods as a team has not made any concrete statement about their project, it is known to have more than 30 years of experience working for the giants of tech like Amazon, Ubisoft, and Nexon.
Some of the key members at Backwoods are:
Backwoods has not disclosed any information about its investors yet. That is actually quite good because, once investment funds are announced, the FOMO wave will definitely increase and knockout early participation. Some notable partners of Backwoods mostly include projects that are live on the Solana network, such as Metaplex for NFT, Anchor for smart contract framework, and Helius for infrastructure.
Firstly, visit the Backwoods game homepage to link your Solana wallet, preferably Phantom, with an X account and a Discord Handle. If your screen throws a login error, refresh the page using F5 and try again several times. Otherwise, please wait a little while and let their site try and check again.
There are two modes to play this backwoods game: Normal and Hardcore
The former is quite suitable for beginners where fewer points are earned, while the latter is suitable for pros who earn more points. Using four keyboard buttons, up, down, left, and right, players control the character to defeat bots and collect rewards. Accessories can be bought and weapons upgraded to buy strength after every Wave.
Four plays a day are allowed for each player, where each session allows ’rounds’. The rounds are progressively difficult as one goes through them. The monsters become more challenging and cunning as one goes up the levels, where quick reflexes and high speed are required.
Backwoods recently updated a feature that corresponds to the locking of items if you’re not able to afford them with available coins in the current round, saving them for the next round.

The Backwoods has addictive gameplay. Players are allowed to play only four times each day, enhancing its appeal. The project’s play-to-airdrop campaign is currently extremely hot.
CoinCu rates this Solana-based game project as worth not only playing with, but also as a good investment; for even if the token of the project has not yet been launched, the community feedback received so far is very positive.
Some include Lord Malachar, a guardian who once became a dark overlord, and Viktas, a futuristic dude who ends up in the world of Nightville and helps defend the realm from demonic threats
The game has different modes to play in, like ‘Normal’ and ‘Hardcore’. This game mode adds more difficulty for the player to afford bonus points.
The Eldertree is a central element in the entire in-game world. It is connected with one life force, shared through its holy $LEAF. Protect the Eldertree since Lord Malachar and other threats are forever targeting it.
