Atleta is a modular, EVM-compatible layer 1 blockchain platform designed specifically for the unique needs of the sports industry. Since the beginning of 2023 around a thousand Web3 developers have worked globally to build the first blockchain network for sports data management, financial operations and sports dApps (decentralized applications) deployment.
Built on Polkadot software development kit (SDK) Substrate the Atleta blockchain has a unique architecture that combines four core elements: parachains, XCM+, cross-chain interoperability, and NPoS. The network will allow sports organizations to:
The individual users in turn will leverage Atleta to:
Anyone can join the Atleta Olympia Testnet by heading over to the official dashboard available here. The testnet users accrue XP points for using different functions of the testnet (e.g. ATLA staking, voting, etc.) which are presented as recurring tasks with certain XP values. All the users get daily and weekly tasks updated every 24 hours.
The number of XP points determines the users’ place on the leaderboard where the most active participants will get rewards after the Olympia testing period. Additionally, testers are able to invite other contributors and get rewarded with half of the XP points their referrals get in the network. Those 100 000 Web3 enthusiasts registered for the Atleta testnet by its start had seized the opportunity to increase their chances of getting the biggest rewards with Whitelist NFT.
To leverage the network’s functionalities and pay transaction fees the testnet users need ATLA tokens which they can claim on the network’s faucet. It gives users ATLA coins once a day and rewards claimers with additional XP points as the faucet is an integral part of Atleta’s beta version. According to the network’s Blockchain Explorer 1000+ users make 75 000 ATLA transactions daily on average. By now the total number of transactions surpasses 3 million.
At the moment the testnet contributors can try the following products of the Atleta Network:
Explorer: The tool that allows the users to view real-time and historical transaction data, blocks, addresses and other relevant blockchain metrics.
Governance: A community-driven, decision-making interface that empowers the most proactive $ATLA holder to propose and vote for network changes. During the recent ‘Olympia’ update the governance interface was complemented with the Referendum proposal, Treasury proposal and Discussion post sections.
Staking mechanisms: Users can stake their testnet ATLA tokens and contribute to the chain’s stability and security by verifying transactions.
Bridge: The application ensures blockchain interoperability and seamless crypto asset transfers across different networks. The testnet can represent several EVM-compatible crypto assets and vice versa. Atleta’s assets can be represented in any other EVM chain.
Decentralized exchange (DEX): The network’s decentralized exchange allows the users to swap tokens and provide liquidity without limitations. The testnet supports the following coins to be swapped on the DEX: Tether (USDT), USD coin (USDC), Ether (ETH), and Atleta (ATLA).
In July the Atleta team announced an ambassadors program with a total prize pool of $150,000 to accelerate community growth and outreach well beyond the field. The network will recruit passionate influencers to spread awareness and excitement through social media and content creation. Ambassadors will be rewarded depending on their Tier and impact on the network’s testnet.
Besides Atleta launched a grant program for talented developers and teams that can enrich the network with new products. The network development team will pay up to $50 000 in $ATLA tokens to any developer or team that will make a relevant contribution to the building of Sports dApps, DeFi tools, network infrastructure and other solutions relevant to the network.
Later within the testnet period, early adopters will be able to explore the NFT marketplace for trading football-related non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and Lending protocolthat supports lending, borrowing, and in-chain crypto portfolio management using Atleta Native Assets.
In autumn 2024 the network’s team will launch the network’s mainnet and conduct the ATLA coin token generation event (TGE).
Atleta Network is the heart of the Blockchain Sports Ecosystem which incorporates AI analytics, performance tracking sensors, VR and blockchain technologies to improve sports operations, drive better results and provide opportunities for young talents worldwide.
The project has already invested $10 million in three football academies established in three Brazilian cities: Rio de Janeiro, Acopiara and Sobral. The company conducted a football competition “Tempo de Futebol” for teenagers of 14 – 17 years scouting 400+ promising young footballers from the whole Brazil. At the moment they train under professional coaches’ guidance with advanced performance tracking (GPEXE) and analytics technologies used in the Serie A top clubs and National Teams of Italia, Malta, Jordan and Moldova.
Blockchain Sports is the first international ecosystem building the future of sports by combining advanced performance tracking, AI, VR and blockchain technologies.
The Blockchain Sports Football project is a part of the ecosystem. In three football academies located in Brazil more than 400 teenage football players from low-income families are honing their football skills. Under the guidance of professional coaches and control of new technologies these promising players are training to become the world’s top footballers within a few years.
Atleta Network is a decentralized L1 blockchain platform with data storage that makes the sports industry more secure, efficient and open. It provides transparency of interactions between sports organizations and the users providing both with additional financial support. Sports organizations can use it to develop smart contracts and sports-related decentralized applications, issue tokens and enhance financial operations with high transparency. Users can engage with their favorite sports teams via smart contracts and support the players directly.

The headquarters of the international holding is located in the UAE, Dubai. Official representative buros are located in Brazil, Germany and Cyprus. The project’s plan for the near future includes developing a custom athlete scouting service and deploying the blockchain testnet.
