Reddit appears to be in the process of developing a non-fungible token (NFT) feature for its platform, which appears to be a marketplace based on a recent job description. According to a recently added job listing, Reddit is looking for a “senior backend engineer” for its “NFT platform.”
By leveraging Ethereum and Arbitrum, Reddit has already dipped its toes into cryptocurrency solutions and blockchain technology. The job posting for a new engineer focused on NFT technology differs from the firm’s community points system.
The platform‘s job post details:
“If there is one thing we’ve noticed with NFTs, they too have an incredible power to create a sense of participation and belonging. With every new NFT project, a vibrant community of owners pops up with it. Fans of today’s biggest creators and brands are now flocking to buy digital goods directly from them — to support them, to gain exclusive access, and to feel a greater sense of connection with them.”
The company believes that NFT will grows and be a central role in how its fan can support their favorite creators and communities.
While the job description includes several requirements, such as more than five years of backend development experience, experience with cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and the programming language Go is “not required.”
The backend, on the other hand, will undoubtedly be dedicated to non-fungible token (NFT) services. According to Reddit, the new senior backend engineer for the NFT platform will “design, build, and ship backend services for millions of users to create, buy, sell, and use NFT-backed digital goods.”
Furthermore, the Reddit job listing states that the company is accommodating in light of the pandemic and that the job can be done remotely.
