First Crewed SpaceX Fram2 Mission Will Be Commanded By F2pool Founder

Chun Wang to Lead Historic Spaceflight on Fram2

Announced on August 12, Fram2 will lift off this year atop a Falcon 9 rocket from Florida’s Space Coast. The SpaceX Fram2 mission wants to orbit Earth in the same Crew Dragon space capsule but will not dock at the International Space Station.

The four-person crew on Fram2 is to be helmed by Chun Wang, founder of the Bitcoin mining pool f2pool and CEO of stake.fish. According to his profiles, Wang is an entrepreneur and a space enthusiast who is going to be the first person with a background in Bitcoin heading into space.

Joining Wang are Norway’s Jannicke Mikkelsen as vehicle commander, Australia’s Eric Philips as vehicle pilot, and Germany’s Rabea Rogge as mission specialist. All four astronauts will make their spaceflight debuts.

SpaceX Fram2 Mission Set for 3-5 Day Orbit Around Earth’s Poles

The SpaceX Fram2 mission is called so to correspond with the Norwegian ship renowned for its polar exploration during the years 1893 through 1912 to both the Arctic and Antarctic. The duration of the journey will be three to five days.

On their voyage, indeed, the crew will get views of the poles of Earth, conduct numerous research experiments, and take valuable images and videos portraying the harsh conditions of living at these latitudes.

Since this first manned flight in 2020, SpaceX has launched 13 human spaceflight missions: nine for NASA and four for commercial. Its next mission, Polaris Dawn, on August 26, will include the first private spacewalk.
