AMC theaters accept Shiba Inu as a ticket payment option

AMC Theaters is about to integrate the option for customers to pay for cinema tickets with Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Dogecoin (DOGE) into its technical infrastructure. But that’s not all. According to multiple sources, the CEO of AMC Theaters will be accepting Shiba Inu as a ticket payment option in the near future.

Adam Aron went to his Twitter page to ask if users are interested in paying with Shiba Inu. At the time of writing, more than 98,000 Twitter users had participated in the survey, with around 86% of users indicating their interest.

Meanwhile, Shiba Inu overtook Dogecoin on Friday, becoming the ninth largest cryptocurrency in the world by market capitalization. Etherscan also announced that the daily number of Shiba Inu transactions exceeded 140,000, just below the all-time high of 172,411 daily transactions reached in May.

After the recent record rally by Shiba Inu, the ecosystem has now been expanded to include ShibaSwap, a decentralized DEX exchange. Data from Defillama puts the total value of ShibaSwap at up to $ 537.92 million. And according to CoinGecko, there are currently no fewer than 29 coins valued at around $ 236 million on ShibaSwap that will change hands in the last 24 hours.

Now ShibaSwap has two more in addition to its base token, Shiba Inu. There’s Bone ShibaSwap, which is used to vote on governance protocols introduced by developers. Then there is the Doge Killer which is used to provide trading liquidity on the DEX.

AMC Theaters is increasingly interested in accepting crypto ticket payments

The well-known AMC theater chain has shown serious interest in crypto lately. Earlier this year, US cinema chain giant AMC announced that its cinemas will accept Bitcoin payments from the end of 2021. Accordingly, Bitcoin is accepted for both cinema tickets and cinema concessions.

The market responded positively to this news. Capital saw the asset jump in price around $ 3,000 after the news broke on Aug. 9. They also announced that they will add three more cryptocurrencies to the list of cryptocurrencies.

Just a week ago, the CEO discussed the potential of issuing a company-specific cryptocurrency. Also earlier this month, AMC allowed its users to purchase digital gift cards through Dogecoin and other cryptocurrencies using the BitPay wallet. In an interview with CNBC last month, Aron also expressed an interest in giving out commemorative cinema tickets in the form of NFTs.
