Recently, Hellcat Ransomware attacked the French multi-national Schneider Electric and asked for a ransom in kind of $125,000 in Monero. The given ransom note includes the publication of 40Gb of sensitive data in case that is not availed. This would be the third cyber-attack in the span of two years, showing how distressingly one-sided these attacks have been on the company’s systems and data.
The ransomware attackers of Hellcat are unusually sophisticated and reportedly accessed both private customer information and data on operations.
