Cosmos Roadmap for Q1 2025 Defines Cosmos Hub Performance Enhancements

On December 23, Cosmos published a roadmap for the first quarter of 2025, pointing to transition, stability, and product tests of the Hub and Interchain Stack.

Cosmos Roadmap Focused on Security and Scalability

Core works that are scheduled in the Cosmos roadmap include the completion of core team configuration at Interchain Labs, optimization of security and performance of the Cosmos Hub, and the introduction of the Interchain Stack to catalyze rapid ecosystem development.

For the Cosmos Hub, it’s going to be all about scalability and security, investigating the possibility of removing the LSM module to speed up block times and investing more in audits for robust performance. For the Interchain Stack, the focus will fall on delivering Version 2 of the Cosmos SDK and IBC codenamed “Eureka,” and improving the transactional throughput of Comet BFT.

Ecosystem Growth Team to Drive Adoption and Support for Builders

The Cosmos roadmap for Q1 2025 also aims to expand its ecosystem through strategic initiatives. The Ecosystem Growth Team will grant builders, institutions, and users end-to-end support via education, funding, and growth programs that catalyze and grow their work.

Builders, Hubs, and Institutional support will have a dedicated department that makes sure the seamless and widespread adoption of Cosmos technology is easy.

The next key plank will be Interchain, where, inside the Cosmos Hub, there is a shift in the growth engine for the chain. It was secondly to assume major responsibilities: natively bridge external liquidity, provide the minimum available services, including oracles, security, interoperability, benchmark Layer 1 by speeding up the block time, and deploy IBC Eureka.
