Donald Trump Launches Collection of Trump Bitcoin Digital Trading Cards Using Ordinals Protocol

Launched via the Ordinals protocol, 160 NFTs were dropped for the first initial release of the Trump Bitcoin Digital Trading Cards collection – entering the former president into Bitcoin-based NFTs.

The collection utilizes the Ordinals protocol, which inscribes special data onto satoshis, the smallest Bitcoin unit. The Trump Bitcoin Digital Trading Cards have been made by means of “Alpha sats,” which is the first satoshis of a block of Bitcoin. Owners of the 100 NFTs in the “Mugshot Edition” could claim their items courtesy of the NFT marketplace Magic Eden.

Market activity for the Trump-inspired Ordinals has already begun in Magic Eden, with the floor price of the collection at 0.177 BTC and the most expensive piece available at 20 BTC. With all the momentum, it’s not certain how this project will keep up with this speed of trading.

Mixed Success in Trump’s Ongoing NFT Projects

First announcing the Bitcoin-minted collection in January 2024, the complete series has a total of 200 cards in all, while 40 more are yet to be released. The drop is but the latest in a series of NFT tries, including “Trump Digital Trading Cards,” in which the edition released back in August 2024 had an “America First” series that was offering gold-themed sneaker and meal perks with Trump among collectors.

While these earlier collections made headlines, the trading activity has been spotty. The “America First” series hasn’t seen much action in recent times. Other NFT products featuring Trump have also received irregular demand.
