The NFT Collection of Ross Ulbricht will be auctioned off.

The very first Ross Ulbricht non-fungible token (NFT) collection will be presented at Art Basel Miami on December 2nd and auctioned off via Superrare. The auction revenues will benefit Ross Ulbricht’s liberation efforts as well as a donor-advised fund called Art4giving, which assists those who have jailed family ones.

Non-fungible token (NFT) assets have exploded this year, transforming into a multibillion-dollar sector seemingly overnight. After serving nine years in prison for a non-violent violation, Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the now-defunct Silk Road bazaar, unveiled his debut NFT collection this week. Ulbricht was a first-time offender, and many people feel his case was a “miscarriage of justice.” His double life sentence without the possibility of release, plus 40 years, for developing a website has also been judged severe.

Ulbricht is still battling for his release, and a petition maintained on change.org has received a lot of attention and signatures since its inception. The petition requests that the United States president and government grant Ulbricht mercy, and the number of signatures in favour of Ulbricht’s release is approaching 500,000 at the time of writing. The NFT auction is intended to garner increased attention and support from the NFT community.”

According to the statement, the Ross Ulbricht NFT collection will be presented and sold during the Art Basel Miami exhibition on December 2. The auction will take place on the NFT platform Superrare, and the collection curated by Entoptic will be Ulbricht’s first NFT collection showcasing his own work. “This NFT collection is Ross’s creative expression journey; it is his living and evolving story.” We get snippets of a man’s evolving existence through drawings and film. “As we continue the campaign for his freedom, this is his way of reaching outside the walls of prison,” Entoptic said in a statement.

Ross Ulbricht NFT Collection to Use KSPEC Protocol; Proceeds to Art4giving and Free Ross Efforts

Entoptic’s NFT collection makes use of the open-source protocol KSPEC. Kanon, a pseudonymous collaboration of “institutional art, design, and cryptonative technology specialists,” created the KSPEC protocol. According to the group, the protocol KSPEC “unlocks God Mode for NFTs.” Using KSPEC, developers may “provide the Ross Ulbricht Collection NFT in full fidelity, attach new information onchain,” according to the release. Ulbricht also discussed how the NFT auction revenues will benefit those who have detained family members.

Ulbricht stated:

“With proceeds from this NFT, we are starting a donor-advised fund called Art4giving, dedicated to relieving the suffering of the incarcerated and their families. One project I envision is to help kids travel to visit their moms and dads in prison,”

Funding helps convicts and their families in a variety of ways, and proceeds from the auction will also go toward the efforts to liberate Ross. “These include new legal processes, increasing awareness, and more – There is still a long road ahead,” finishes the release.
