Now, Martha Stewart, who according to a press release was named “Queen of Thanksgiving” by Time Magazine, is returning to premiere 100 NFT photos and an animated NFT dubbed “The First Thanksgiving’remembering 1994.”
In addition to the story-based animated NFT, the Martha Fresh Mint collection includes photographs from older issues of Stewart’s famous home magazine Martha Stewart Living. Images of pies, sandwiches, cornucopias, and artfully grouped rooster sculptures in various designs are among the NFTs.
Prices for the collection range from $100 for a photorealistic image to $1,000 for an impressionist interpretation. Restyles of palette knives, watercolors, and oil paintings cost $500. The animated NFT, which is presently up for auction on OpenSea, is the most costly in the collection. Bidding for the item begins at 3 ETH.
Martha Stewart recalls the experience of a Thanksgiving dinner with her family in 1994 New Jersey in “The First Thanksgiving.” She explains that every year, she and her mother would get up at 4 a.m. to begin cooking the supper, which would be served at 1 p.m.
Stewart has previously created animated NFTs. She sold an animation of herself disguised as a figure from a Roy Lichtenstein artwork for 1 ETH this fall. More shockingly, Stewart dressed up as a “naughty nurse” for the same-named animated NFT, which was just resold for 4.1 ETH.
Given her fan base’s demographic, Stewart’s interest in NFTs may come as a surprise to some. While it’s unknown who is purchasing Stewart’s NFTs, her team has made a point of making their NFT site instructional and beginner-friendly, complete with a FAQ section that answers queries like “What are NFTs?” At the bottom of each item, there are questions like “What is a blockchain?” and “What is a cryptocurrency?”
