DFINITY Foundation Launches NFT Studio to Bring NFT 3D to Internet Computers

The DFINITY Foundation, an important contribution to the Internet Computing – a blockchain that runs at web speed and offers an infinitely scalable platform for smart contracts, has launched NFT Studio, an interactive NFT platform and 3D runs on the Internet computer protocol .

With NFT Studio, developers can design, shape, and deploy interactive and conventional 3D NFTs DFINITY that can be transferred, bought, and sold with no transaction fees.

The breakthrough opens up new facets in the NFT art world as well as more commercial use cases in marketing or gaming.

“Creators who work with powerful tools like Blender and Cinema 4D often say they are limited because platforms like Ethereum or Solana cannot handle the size of the files they are working with. NFT 3D sounds like fiction – far beyond the current state of blockchain technology. But we made it possible on-chain thanks to the Internet computer, ”explains Lukas Merville, founder and director of NFT Studio.

Internet Computer sets standards NFT

NFT Studio currently includes two tools – the 3D Voxel Tool and the Pixel Tool – to create 3D NFTs and cast them instantly. The NFT Studio Voxel Tool is used by artists to create 3D voxel models. Once created, these voxel models can be used for a variety of purposes, such as photos for social networks and 3D models for video games.

NFT took the world by storm in 2021. NFT revenue rose to $ 10.7 billion in the third quarter, more than 800% more than the previous quarter, according to DappRadar.

However, 3D variants have so far been unsuccessful, mainly because most networks cannot handle the required file sizes. The memory on Ethereum is bigger than the internet computer.

A GB of smart contract data on Ethereum costs more than $ 373 million, while the same right to Internet computers is only $ 0.467 per month.

Hence, NFT metadata, including images and art, needs to be stored off-chain, either via a central website cache or on separate, decentralized storage such as IPFS.

However, IPFS still has the problem of uncertainty. If no one stores it, this data can be lost forever. Not only does this undermine the philosophy of decentralized assets, but it also means that thousands or even millions of NFTs could be left out of the metadata that provides them with value, threatening the core interests of the digital currency.

NFT Studio overcomes these limitations by using the Internet computer protocol. The network acts as a full Web3 technology stack and can deliver user experiences directly through web browsers and smartphones.
