Review Nekoverse ($NVS) & ($ASG) – Unique art style and concept
The team wants to make sure that Nekoverse is built not just for crypto-enthusiasts, but also for game geeks (just as we are). Nekoverse will be unlike any other Play-to-Earn Games you have experienced, because it was created by Gamers, for Gamers.
What is Nekoverse?
Nekoverse is a Play-to-Earn Massive Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game (MMORPG) that is built using blockchain technology.
Nekoverse is also the name of the metaverse (in-game world) in which players can choose their own paths in discovering, interacting with other players, battle PvE and PvP, or just leisurely explore the world, farming resources, and crafting items. With the help of blockchain technology, the game also offers a comprehensive decentralized in-game economy that is driven by players, and a Guild system utilizing in-game DAO Governance mechanic, allowing players to truly own not just the assets, but also the narrative and development of the game.
Outstanding Features
What is the project trying to achieve?
Blockchain gaming is the new paradigm that’s redefining how we play games in the future. Or not? The team believes that every game, blockchain or traditional, Play-to-Earn or Play-for-Fun, should all strive to deliver enjoyment for players. Only then, The “Earn” part: the economy within the game’s universe. It’s all Art and Science. The Science is to champion the Play, not the Earn. And the Art is the perfect balance you keep between the two. The team at Nekoverse believes that Play-to-Earn is much more than just a trend, it’s the evolution that has much more room to grow, and only those that truly treasure the PLAY will live on for their audience to keep EARNING.
The team also believes that blockchain technology has enabled an opportunity for game developers like ourselves to create a game where the ownership of the game, its assets, story, and development truly belong to the players. Nekoverse is built exactly with that mindset, allowing players to own the assets, craft their own paths in the game, and find their own roles in the world of Nekoverse and the community of players.
What is the unique selling point?
Neko Character
Neko is your character in Nekoverse, distributed to players in the form of Non-Fungible Tokens. Each Neko is randomly generated with unique traits, ensuring that every Neko is unique. A player can own multiple Nekos to form a team that suits their playstyle.
Elements, Levels, Professions
Elements: The Ancient Triad are the creators of all Neko elements. To bring balance to Nekoverse, they have divided all elements into 3 classes:
Origin Quad: Fire, Nature, Earth, Water. Being the prime elements of all universes, Origin Quad are the defenders of nature.
Pancha Triad: Spirit, Ice, Lightning. Closely connected to the wild, the Pancha Triad are the chosen ones to have mystical powers, many of which are still unknown.
Void Dyad: Light and Dark. Regarded as the root of all elements. Should the Void Dyad be summoned, all of Nekoverse’s balance and peace will be consumed.
Levels: Each Neko will start at Level 1 when entering Nekoverse. Leveling up Nekos increases combat stats and increases efficiency in resource farming. Special Events can also introduce Level Cap and Min Level to participate. Neko can gain experience by participating in core gameplay (Battle, Resource Farming, Item Crafting). Once each level’s experience requirement is reached, players can level up their Nekos using Leveling Items.
Professions: Players can also apply a profession for their Nekos using Profession Items. Profession provides corresponding boosts when participating in game activities, such as combat prowess, item crafting efficiency, resource farming efficiency,… Professions deepen character development for each Neko, by providing various P2E paths and allowing players to gradually specialize in their P2E styles. Some of the professions are Blacksmith, Alchemist, Hunters, Merchants,… As users get more invested in the game, their paths are gradually specialized (owning max level Nekos that are geared with items & professions specifically designed) to become more efficient in gaining more rewards and making a name for themselves in the community.
Breeding & Summoning
Breeding: Players can breed two Nekos together to create a dual-element Nekos. Breeding Nekos gives players Egg, which is also an NFT that can be traded on marketplaces both in-game and outside of the game. Egg can be hatched into a new Nekos using the Incubator in Neko Labs.
Summoning: Players can summon Nekos with special elements using the Summoning Portal. Special element Nekos have unique skills and abilities that would present exciting new challenges, combat strategies, and playstyles for players.
Gameplay
Core gameplay includes Battle, Resource Farming, and Item Crafting.
Battle Overview
Players can use their Neko characters to battle PvE or PvP in various modes: 1v1, 3v3, Tournaments, Team Combat, Boss Raid,… The strengths of your characters in combat will be determined from the combination of characters’ elements, stats, items, and skills, creating a dynamic combat system.
Battling rewards players with in-game currency and a chance for item drops, which can be used or sold on marketplaces.
Battle System
The battle system in Nekoverse is a Real-time Skill-based Battle, in which players bring their Nekos into combat and defeat all of the opponents’ Nekos using learned & purchased skills.
While the battle system is easy to get started, mastering the combats will require a serious understanding of the three main pillars: Elements, Skills, and Stats/Levels/Equipment.
Elements : Elements will determine the boost/debuff your Neko will receive when facing another Neko of different elements.
Skills: You can attack/defend/buff your Neko using Skills. Neko can learn Skills corresponding to their Elements.
Stats, Levels, Equipment: Stats is the basis for your Neko’s strength in battle. Each Neko will have their unique Stats since birth. Leveling up your Nekos can improve the Stats. Users can also modify Stats by equipping Nekos with items. Basic Stats are: Health Point, Attack, Defense, Evasion, Accuracy, Speed.
Battle Mode
Nekoverse will also offer a variety of Battle Mode to enrich and diversify the battling experience. Players can participate in 1v1 Battle, 2v2 battle, Tag Team Battle, Tournament Competition, Raid Battle,… Since each gaming mode will require a different strategy, players can diversify their Neko lineup to have a better chance of winning. By doing so, we can ensure that each battle mode will be different, but all of them will be exciting for players.
Exploration & Resource Farming
This mode is designed for the wanderlust, allowing players to explore the hidden richness of Nekoverse, keeping balanced gameplay between relaxing exploration and intense battles. Players can also use their Nekos to harvest/mine/farm resources that would be later used as materials for item crafting such as ores, wood, water,… These are all resources that can be sold for in-game currency on marketplaces, where others can purchase them to use in item crafting.
Item Crafting
What is an RPG without item crafting? We intend to introduce a comprehensive crafting system that goes hand-in-hand with the in-game economy to truly deliver a role-playing experience for players.
Items have a wide variety of utilities in Nekoverse that drive the game progression, unlock game features and directly impact battle prowess. As a result, items will be the heart of the in-game economy. The large majority of the items are supplied by players through crafting, only a very few items are sold by Nekoverse directly to players. Therefore, item crafting is the core activity that facilitates communications and bonds the community together.
Nekoverse World
Nekoverse is also the name of the in-game universe, the resting lands of all Nekos, governed by three mythical Gods, called the Ancient Triad. With a single act of destruction, the Ancient Triad has set a curse upon the Nekoverse – only those that prevail shall remain there being.
Nekoverse World will contain three types of Realms: Elemental Realms, City of Greed, and Chaos Land. Each of these types will provide a unique experience for players, and have different levels of security.
Elemental Realms: Each Neko will have its own origin tribe which reside in corresponding Elemental Realm, such as Inferno Highlands (Fire), Remedy Woods (Nature), Foothill of Honor (Earth), Neverest Peninsula (Water). The Elemental Realm is the starting point for all players, and have the following characteristics:
Each Elemental Realm will have its own unique quest line that delves deep into the lore of each elemental tribe. The quests will introduce new players to the world of Nekoverse and the game mechanics, as well as rewarding players with items and currency.
Elemental Realms are the safest places in the entire Nekoverse: Battles are only PvE (no PvP allowed), losing battles here does not have an effect on players’ Neko characters.
Elemental Realms also contain areas that players can go to harvest/mine/farm resources.
City of Greed: City of Greed is where the in-game economy takes place.
Lands in this realm are sold to players to allow them to create guilds and establish player-governed districts and unlock economic activities in the game through purchasing special buildings in the land.
City of Greed offers medium-level of security for players. PvP battles are allowed. However, battling (PvE or PvP) in City of Greed decreases your Nekos’ health. Empty health Neko faints and will require healing potion to heal before taking part in any activities.
Chaos Land: Chaos Land is the uncharted region in Nekoverse, in which high-risk high-reward gameplay is the defining characteristic
High-risk Mechanics
Chaos Land offers an unique high-risk high-reward game mechanic: Asset Removal. Asset Removal means losing a battle in this area means losing ownership of their Neko characters and items – a lost battle results in the death of Neko characters (Fallen Nekos) in combat and their equipped items.
Fallen Neko characters are sent to Neko Graveyard which can be revived at random by players who possess a special revival item, which can be crafted using exclusive items dropped only in Chaos Land’s battles.
Fallen Nekos’ equipped items will turn into Lost Items, which will be given out to battle winners at random in Lost Chests.
High-reward Mechanics
Winning battles in Chaos Land give a chance for exclusive drops: rare materials (such as the ones used for revival items), Lost Chests (which contains other players’ equipment), Spirit Gems (required to summon special class Neko characters), Tickets to special events,… These exclusive drops will have special roles in the game.
Players can also discover rare mines with better materials and rewards.
Chaos Land continuously devours the energy of the Nekoverse, so a portion of all Nekoverse economic activities will be sent to Chaos Vault, which will be distributed to Chaos Land resource farming & battling to provide higher yield for players that dare to venture into this dangerous region.
Land, Guild & Building
Lands: Lands within the City of Greed are sold to players, providing the foundation to establish the player-governed autonomous zones.
Buildings: Guilds can purchase special buildings in their land to unlock special features. Some of the building and their utility includes:
Auction house + Guild Marketplace: Guild can host auctions for the items that the guild possesses. Players can also list their items to be sold on the Guild Marketplace.
Arena: Host PvP battle in which Nekozens can bet on winners. Guilds can sponsor special items as prizes and earn a percentage of the bet money. PvP battle inside the arena does affect the health of Nekos.
Forgery: allow crafting items from resources collected by Nekozens.
Guilds: After owning lands, players can establish Guilds. Guilds are established by players to serve players. They are in-game DAOs in which players can set their own governance system and taxations that apply to all economic activities taking place in the lands of the Guild. Guilds play an important role in fostering the community-driven aspect of Nekoverse:Guilds organized community activities, for example: auctions, tournaments, allocating items to players that will venture into Chaos Land to compete for precious items and rare resources.
Guilds drive the game’s economic activities, by purchasing special buildings, for instance, Forgery (required to manufacture items), and Guild Marketplace (hold marketplace to add liquidity for the game assets).
Guilds foster more efficient income generation for players. Guild can set taxation on economics activities in the land to generate a passive income for the guild.
Guilds foster community engagement & communications.
Play-to-Earn
With comprehensive game mechanics and an in-game economy, Nekoverse provides many paths for Play-to-Earn
Resource Farming: Farmed resources can be sold on marketplace for $ASG
Battle: PvE & PvP earning $ASG & dropped items to sold to guild and marketplace.
Crafting: Craft items to be used in-game and sold on the marketplace.
Breeding & Summoning: Use Neko Lab to breed Nekos and sells on Marketplace.
Passive income from establishing guild & collect taxes.
Passive income from staking tokens in Neko Temple.
The game economy and game mechanics are intentionally designed to be sustainable, which means players can monetize their gaming time for a long-time without exhaustion due to a declining reward curve. More detailed information concerning the Sustainable Play-to-Earn Economy will be provided in the Economic Paper.
