While several major China crypto publications appear to be shutting down, several local news outlets are continuing their mission by turning to social media like Twitter.
According to an operator of one of the largest crypto publications in China, the recent ban didn’t have much of an impact on the local crypto media as there are so many ways to spread industry information.
On December 1, the operator (who spoke on condition of anonymity) said that several local crypto websites had shifted their communities to other communication channels such as Twitter and Telegram after the government imposed a new ban in September.
“They are trying to share more information there and limited on their websites. We can get all the information we want from Twitter. ”

“More and more Chinese are coming to Twitter and Telegram, some of them even celebrities.”

In particular, the industry’s most important news channel, ChainNews, lost its connection in November.
According to sources, ChainNews decided to end the service later this month. The last post of publication on the Telegram channel was on November 25th. The website had more than 1.5 million visits in the past month, according to the data by SimilarWeb.
