To this day, Martin is supported by both Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson and Miami’s District Commissioner Jeffrey Watson.

Haiti, a western Caribbean country torn by a tragic past, natural disasters, poor leadership and ineffective development aid, is not the country that comes to mind when one thinks of blockchain applications. According to the World Bank, Haiti was for many years one of the poorest countries in the world in terms of GDP per capita.
But Haitian-Canadian businessman Nandy Martin, often referred to as Captain Haiti for roaming the streets of his community in superhero costumes and signature shields, has ambitious goals.
In an exclusive interview with Cointelegraph, Captain Haiti spoke about the motivations behind Tiny Haiti Coin and the project’s technological roadmap for the future.

Cointelegraph: What inspired you to start Tiny Haiti Coin and this company?
Haitian captain: There are many non-profit organizations that get involved in Haitian society. In the end, I’d say at least 60 to 70 years, and for all my best efforts, the situation got worse. So my approach to the country is purely capitalist by integrating it into the world economic system. And that’s why I created the Little Haiti Coin to enable everyone there to enter the crypto era. So the goods we have in Haiti and the precious minerals we have in Haiti can be a means of bringing them into the world and taking care of our people with our social program. , Etc
CT: How do you turn this vision into reality?
CH: We created 1 million Small Haiti Coins on the Cardano blockchain. As we do, we have the facility and partnership for a 5000 square foot facility in Small Haiti for residents to come and install a wallet that will hold a Little Haiti coin. So the goal of the establishment is to get people to install a wallet and allow them to buy products or products or merchandise in Minimal Haiti that are from Haiti. So the utility of the token is to feed the residents of Very Little Haiti and give the world a 10-100% discount on goods imported from Haiti.
CT: How many transfers from Haiti to the Tiny Haitian Community in Miami?
CH: Our goal is to bring a quarter of all Haitian remittances to Haiti worldwide, or $ 1 billion. That’s a great question. Because remittances to Haiti account for 36% of Haiti’s GDP. And the first phase was that sellers in local shops selling small Haitian coins wanted to accept this in our advertisements. And to do that, we turned to Jeffrey Watson, the Miami 5th District Commissioner. And he donated $ 200,000 to 40 local businesses to help import Haitian products and deliver them to tourists visiting Tiny Haiti.
CT: How is the development of the Haitian minimal coin?
CH: The first use of the new Haitian currency was to clean up the neighborhood. Okay, because it is an economically demanding field. So, do you litter a lot? We partnered with the city of Miami, where anyone can sponsor, to clean up a square foot of Minimal Haiti for $ 3. And what you get and the reward is a dollar. Small Haitian coin. We cleaned over 300,000 square feet of Haiti in the process.
CT: Out of all the blockchains, why did you choose Cardano specifically to bring the Haitian Tiny to market?
CH: After meeting Charles Hoskinson, I knew in that moment that someone is very creative and that someone was in this world and the world describes it a long time ago that this person is so humble and also willing to join in and with that Playing shield, etc. So I had to dig in Cardano. And then I discovered that Cardano’s mission is to create a better world for big organizations like small organizations and people like me. So I feel like I have a home for the Small Haiti Coin in Cardano.
CT: Where do you see this technology developing in the next year or two?
CH: Yes, the project is moving quickly. The first is that I created Captain Haiti game tokens on Binance Chain to educate the world about crypto. We’ll release it on January 1st. We already have 10,000 downloads of the game on the Play Store.

And all we had to do was let the kids play. And when the children play, we burn the circulation. Here’s the question: hey, what’s that offer in circulation? What is inflation What is deflation? It also aims to educate and change the perception of the people of Haiti.
And then there is the Cardano Beach facility. We therefore offer you a certificate-like NFT for the number of square meters you rent, for example a co-working space. And once we have the hub, we will invite the entire population to create their Cardano ID right here in Tiny Haiti.
