An NFT owner lost $ 250,000 due to a typo

All mistakes come at a price, there are mistakes that cost you dearly, especially in an area like crypto where everyone is looking to maximize profits.

One NFT owner made a fatal mistake that cost them over $ 250,000 through a fundamental mistake by putting the decimal point in the wrong place.

Bored Ape NFT # 3,547 on sale for only $ 3,000

Follow report from CNET, Bored Ape NFT Owner # 3,547 (BAYC), Max (maxnaut) made the mistake of accidentally entering his NFT value of 0.75 ETH ($ 3,015) instead of the original value of 75 ETH ($ 300,000).

Max announced that he was distracted as he entered the price of NFT on OpenSea:

“I list a lot of things every day and just lost my attention. I spotted the bug as soon as my finger clicked it, but a bot sent a transaction over 8 ETH ($ 34,000 US) in gas charges.

BAYC is one of the most renowned NFT collections in the world. Right now, the starting price – meaning the lowest price you can buy for the NFT from BAYC – is 52 ETH or $ 210,000.

When you check on OpenSea transaction The above actually takes place on a Saturday. A closer look at the data will reveal that Max originally bought this NFT for 1 ETH in May when the ETH price hovered just above $ 2,200 and that NFT rose 150x.

The NFT market exploded in 2021, with some celebrities like Jimmy Fallon, Post Malone, Steph Curry, Mark Cuban and a few others arriving as well.

As Cointelegraph reported, some of the top brands in the world such as Budweiser, Pepsi, Nike and Adidas have also hit the market.

Notably, this isn’t the first weird purchase in the NFT space. In October, an NFT owner sold a CryptoPunk NFT to himself for $ 532 million.
