The NFT Rarible Marketplace officially launched its integration into the Tezos Proof of Stake Blockchain on Thursday afternoon.

This partnership will allow Rarible to introduce Tezos NFTs to its marketplace and support the secondary sales of live Tezos projects, while allowing users to earn NFTs at low fees.

Rarible’s integration with Tezos marks the third Layer 1 blockchain supported by the platform, along with Ethereum and Stream, the Dapper Labs blockchain network that powers the NBA Top Shot. In Rarible’s attempt to build a multi-chain platform to unify NFT space, followed by integrations with Solana and Polygon, said Rarible CEO Alexei Falin, who told Cointelegraph:

“Rarible firmly believes that the future of NFT is cross-chain and that interoperability is key to a successful and optimized NFT ecosystem. We’ve seen how many alternative blockchains have grown in importance thanks to their unique offerings in the NFT space, especially Tezos thanks to its low-cost and energy-efficient mining process through proof-of-stake validation. ”

According to the company, the integration should take place in two phases. Users were able to mint, buy and sell new NFT Tezos, as well as trade in the secondary market, starting with in-game Metaverse collectibles known as Digits from legacy gaming organization Ubisoft. Next, Rarible plans to produce new collections through custom contracts and license imported collections that already exist on Tezos.

Rarible and Tezos also released an initial NFT collection called Blazing Futures, curated by Diane Drubay, founder of We Are Museums and NFT producer at Hic Et Nunc. Blazing Futures’ drop features exclusive work on Rarible by 10 artists based on Tezos.

Falin added that he hopes “Rarible users can benefit from an improved experience in our marketplace while benefiting from more NFT projects that exist within the robust Tezos network.”

Integration is via Rarible Protocol, the open source community-managed NFT protocol on which Rarible.com runs.
