Flexa, a cryptocurrency payments firm funded by the Winklevoss twins, has intergrated FOX token into its network.
This means that FOX token holders may now spend it at about 40,000 shops across the United States, including video game retailer GameStop, home furnishings retailer Bed Bath & Beyond, luxury retailer Nordstrom, and many other large retailers.
Flexa recently announced that it will accept DOGE and SHIB for payments throughout its extensive network. The two popular meme coin have then made considerable gains towards merchant acceptance
Flexa’s Spedn cryptocurrency wallet, launched in 2019, enables crypto payments. It originally supported four major cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and the stablecoin Gemini Dollar.
It is worth noting that shops continue to get paid in cash rather than bitcoin, with Flexa acting as a go-between for them and cryptocurrency owners.
The network automatically converts cryptocurrencies into fiat cash, eliminating the need for merchants to deal with the volatility of cryptocurrencies. Amp, an ERC-20 token that acts as crowdsourced collateral, enables instant payments.
Last month, Regal Cinemas in Knoxville also partnered with Flexa to accept cryptocurrencies. Starbucks participated in the app’s testing as well, but was shortly removed from the list of accessible establishments.
