Still an opponent, Donald Trump claims that cryptocurrencies will crash harder than tech stocks

Former US President Donald Trump said cryptocurrency was “a very dangerous thing”. In his comment on cryptocurrencies, he warned that “one day there would be an explosion” that “could make the big tech boom seem small”.

Cryptocurrencies are “very dangerous”

Trump commented on crypto, his wife’s NFT efforts and his new social media platform Truth Social in an interview with Maria Bartiromo over the weekend.

When asked by Bartiromo what he thinks about cryptocurrencies, noting that “New York and Miami are really bringing crypto into their financial systems,” the former US president reiterated his anti stance:

“Well, I never loved it because I love the dollar. I think the currency should be the dollar so I’ve never been a huge fan of it. But it is spreading and nobody is doing anything about it. ”

“I want a currency called the dollar. I don’t want anything else, and one day there will be a huge explosion – on a scale and scale that we have never seen before. It will overwhelm and make what was once the big tech boom seem very small. I think it’s a very dangerous thing. ”

Trump was never a fan of cryptocurrencies. In August, Donald Trump predicted crypto as “a disaster waiting to happen”. As early as June, he described Bitcoin as a fraud and the need for strict regulation.

Donald Trump was also asked about the former first lady’s NFT efforts. Melania Donald Trump announced last week the sale of an NFT titled “Melania’s Vision” on their newly launched NFT platform which plans to issue a regular NFT. Regarding his wife’s NFT plan, Trump said:

“She will do very well … She has a great imagination. And people love the former first lady, I can confirm that. ”

Speaking of his Truth Social social networking platform, he said “it’s going to be huge”. Trump previously stated that the new platform will be an alternative to Silicon Valley internet companies that he says are biased against him and other conservatives. He plans to launch Truth Social nationwide early next year.
