The public blockchain network Terra has confirmed an ongoing phishing attack through an official government poll on Mirror, an internal aggregated asset protocol.
According to survey ID: 211, entitled “Freezing Community Groups in Case of Scams,” the scammer suggested updating community governance rules to be more secure in the event of a hack. If the hacker wins a positive majority in the poll, 25 million MIR tokens (valued at $ 24.1 million at press time) will be sent to the hacker’s address.
As the screenshot above shows, Mirror’s proactive approach to alerting the community has resulted in a significant increase in the number of no-votes – confirming the fund’s safety.
