The new year has only just begun, but the sporting involvement in crypto has little time to pause.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams is a strong proponent of Bitcoin, so online betting and gambling have become a natural addition as black market options have recently become legal and institutionalized across the United States. However, none of these facts have any impact on the legalization of sports betting in New York, as products from DraftKings, Caesars, BetRivers and FanDuel go live nationwide this weekend.
While overseas betting sites and the black market are mostly focused on cryptocurrencies, the leading sports betting providers have largely started with the basics in hopes of a positive outcome. Cryptocurrencies are being launched on these platforms in New York and beyond
Due Dilly is a new sports card store that you won’t find in your local mall. Instead, the startup headed straight for the Metaverse and opened its doors on The Sandbox – the first to do so.
Since Dilly plans to secure their digital NFTs with physical sports cards for collectors, it will support stationary sports card stores with active online shops and offer exclusive NFT bonuses.
Sports trading cards have found a natural place in online communities, so it’s a logical connection to make in The Sandbox.
Algorand and Drone Racing League partnered back in September and now, just months later, the two shared some brief plans to strengthen their partnership. The league will be working with partner Playground Labs to bring a new playable drone game for money, the first of its kind, to the Metaverse, which is of course supported by Algorand.
While details are limited, partners are working on a title that will allow players to drive DRL drones and also introduce sports betting on the platform. In an interview, DRL President Rachel Jacobson said, “We’re building a roadmap for many different things over the next few years,” adding, “We need to know about blockchain because we always want to move forward.” Compliments go to DRL for their willingness to remain aggressive in a world that is often bogged down by “safe choices”.
With NASCAR President Steve Phelps’ previous comments on the political message and the union’s desire to stay out of anything that affects both sides of the political gang, we have sparked nostalgia and healthy doubts about the deal’s work.
This deal is now fully closed as NASCAR rejected the funding request. Athletic’s auto reporter Jeff Gluck provides some great additional context:
Algorand continues to play a key role in the Drone Racing League’s public innovation, and this week’s announcement is no exception.
Tezos‘ largest sports sponsorship or partnership to date easily becomes the blockchain platform’s relationship with Red Bull and their Formula 1 team. That is up for debate this week, however, when Tezos announced another key partnership in their proposal, European esports organization Team Vitality.
While financial details and the full scope of the relationship were not disclosed, the partnership is described as “the largest European esports deal in history” and Vitality has described it very clearly. The deal is “the largest partnership in Team Vitality’s history “. This should not be underestimated given Vitality’s other partnerships, which include partners such as Adidas, Philips, Corsair, Scuf, etc.
