Sultan Gustaf Al Ghozali, a 22-year-old Computer Science student from Indonesia, took selfies of himself “standing in front of the computer day by day” from 2017.
In December 2021, he decided to sell his selfies on OpenSea under the title “Ghozali Everyday” for $3 each. Now to obtain a selfie of him on that NFT marketplace, you must spend at least 0.345 Ethereum (ETH), which is comparable to $1,155.
Hundreds of this Indonesian man’s selfies have been acquired and are in trade circulation, with a total trading volume of 293 Ethereum coins, or $986,485.
His Twitter posts show that he never imagined his selfies to be worth a million dollars. In one tweet, he stated that his first plan was to utilize the photographs to create a video.
In notably, he claimed that he will no longer list his selfies in the coming years. Collectors are free to do anything they want with his photos, but he encouraged them to “take care of” them and “don’t abuse my photos or my parents will very disappointed to me.”
