Russia Has Taken Down 4 Major Illegal Dark Websites Which Made Over $263 Million In Crypto

The Caught Of Russian Government

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has shut down four prominent illegal dark websites: Sky-Fraud forum, Trump’s Dumps, UAS Store, and Ferum Shop, the top stolen credit card market. These websites made over an estimated $263 million across Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ether in illicit proceeds during their lifetimes.

According to a report published on Wednesday by Elliptic, the four dark websites gained more than $263 million in cryptocurrency through the sale of stolen credit cards. Furthermore, the majority of buyers paid for these cards with bitcoin (BTC), litecoin (LTC), and ether (ETH).

Flashpoint reported that the seizures were completed by the Department “K,” a division of the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Internal Affairs that concentrates largely on information technology-related crimes. In addition, the state-owned news outlet TASS reported that six Russians had been prosecuted with “illegal circulation of means of payment.”

DarkWeb Market

Ferum Shop, which has been operating since October 2013, has generated up to $256 million in Bitcoin through stolen credit card sales, accounting for almost 17% of the stolen credit card market.

The UAS Retailer, a popular supplier of stolen remote desktop protocol (RDP) credentials since November 2017, has made over $3 million in Bitcoin profits, while carding store Trump’s Dumps has made around $4.1 million since its opening in October 2017.
