Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to a tweet on the new Santa Monica Supercharger Facility by saying that the station will accept Dogecoin payments as well.

The tweet drew a flood of supportive responses from the Dogecoin community, including Shibetoshi Nakamoto, the coin’s inventor.

Elon Musk announced in 2018 that Tesla intends to establish an old-school drive-in, roller skates, and rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger sites in Los Angeles.

The news causes dogecoin to increase to $0.142271 at the time of writing.

The famous billionaire is a well-known dogecoin supporter.

The car manufacturer is accepting Dogecoin for the purchase of some products. Musk originally mentioned the concept in December. The manufacturer also began accepting Bitcoin payments in March, but discontinued them 49 days later due to environmental concerns.

In late January, Musk allegedly asked McDonald’s to accept Dogecoin, but the fast-food giant reportedly laughed the notion off.

And lately, he hints that Starlink may also accept Dogecoin.
