According to NFT collector Derek.eth, the top-of-the-line Bored Ape NFT, model number #1837, was sold to an anonymous buyer who decided to spend almost 600 ETH on it.
Previously, Deepak (Derek) sold this piece for 690,420 ETH, referring to the well-known “meme numbers” that Elon Musk often uses in his tweets. But then he lowered the price of the property to 569, most likely to sell it faster.
This theory is also shared by WuBlockchain, a blockchain journalist from China.
The only thing that goes against the theory is Musk’s relationship with the NFT Twitter profile pictures and the NFT industry in general. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO has previously criticized the Twitter management team for the abundance of bots and scammers in every NFT and crypto-related Twitter post.
The Dogecoin developer and co-founder also expressed dissatisfaction with Twitter’s lack of action to protect the social media platform from scammers and bots.
