FTX Europe Is Creating Web3-focused and NFTs with music festival Tomorrowland

FTX Europe is collaborating with Tomorrowland, an electro-music event, to introduce web3 capabilities into the festival. As part of the broader festival experience, Tomorrowland Winter festival guests will be able to acquire the first 1,500 of a total of 6,500 NFTs as part of the collaboration.

Possession of the NFTs, in particular, will open one of five places hidden among the mountains in Alpe d’Huez, France, where the festival is held at the end of March, with exclusive concerts that festival-goers must find and scan their bracelet for entrance.

“The progression to web3 gives up a lot of possibilities for our limitless imagination, as well as the possibility to tighten the bonds of our community in the next years,” Tomorrowland founder Michiel Beers said in a statement.

The collaboration will look into the use of Web3 and blockchain technologies, such as NFTs for music, ticketing, and art, events in the metaverse, and cryptocurrency payments. “Tomorrowland’s evolution to web3 is an opportunity to establish a deeper connection to the community and engage festival-goers with streamlined ticketing options, artists with new creative outlets, and Tomorrowland fans with the ability to earn, collect, or buy digital Tomorrowland assets,” the company said in a statement.

“We’re thrilled to join with Tomorrowland to bring their genuinely unique and spectacular events to the digital arena by supporting their Web3, NFT, and crypto-related activities,” stated FTX founder and CEO Sam Bankman-Fried.

“We’re also united in our opinion that community, accessibility, transparency, and sustainability are key aspects in creating a better music festival.” The FTX Quest will provide attendees with a fun and participatory method to obtain entry to special events during 2018 Tomorrowland Winter.”
