Grand Fantasy Integrates Chainlink Sports Data to Power March Madness Contests

Grand Fantasy, the daily fantasy sports platform — has integrated Chainlink Sports Data Feeds on Polygon mainnet. By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, Grand Fantasy has access to high-quality, tamper-proof sports data needed to help ensure fantasy sports games are settled with accurate data. Grand Fantasy is excited to be the first project leveraging Chainlink data for fantasy sports.

Their initial integration involves retrieving sports data for March Madness, the most popular NCAA College basketball tournament. We chose Chainlink Sports Data Feeds as their go-to oracle solution because it’s mission-critical that any data is tamper-proof due to the immutable nature of smart contracts.

Choosing Chainlink was an easy decision because it already helps secure leading DeFi protocols responsible for tens of billions of dollars in smart contract value. Grand Fantasy’s payouts execute automatically, making it incredibly important that the data triggering their contests is highly accurate and reliable — a must for a fair contest.

Grand Fantasy is a simple and elegant Daily Fantasy Sports pick’em challenge built on Polygon. Grand Fantasy offers players low contest fees and high payouts. Players are able to deposit MATIC tokens and pick who they think will win daily games, and those who guess in the top percentile can win rewards! Grand Fantasy is currently live and offers unique March Madness contests.

In order to ensure their contests are run fairly, we needed access to sports data that is supplied directly on-chain in a highly reliable manner. Without highly secure and reliable on-chain data, their contests could be subject to data manipulation attacks. Fortunately, we were able to make use of Chainlink’s sports data adapters to accurately score contests on-chain.

Grand Fantasy plans on adding support for multiple sports and contest types in its V2 release. We will continue to use Chainlink Data Feeds to trigger contest results with high-quality data.
