$417.16M in Liquidations when Bitcoin price surges over $47,000

At the time of publishing, Bitcoin is trading around $47,000, but it has peaked at $47,650 earlier today. This is the highest price BTC has reached since January 2nd.

Bitcoin’s price is on a steady upward trend as it enters its seventh straight positive day.

According to coinglass data, till now, there is a total of over $417 million worth of liquidations in the past 24 hours.

FTX is the leading exchange in terms of contributing the liquidations with $150.29M in liquidations in the last 24 hours. Some of the following names are Okex, Binance and Bybit with $123.7M, $70.17M and $27.33M in liquidations, respectively.

Almost 80% of the liquidated positions were short, which was somewhat expected.
