A scammer is using REVV Motosport’s name on Discord

Animoca Brands, the owner of the REVV Racing ecosystem, announced on April 12 (Asian hour) that “there is an ongoing scam using REVV Motorsport name on Discord” and alerted people to not complete any deals with this account.

Last day, Animoca Brands announced it has completed the acquisition of 100% of the issued capital of Eden Games S.A.S. from Engine Gaming & Media. Eden Games is a highly respected and successful racing game studio with products ranging from pure racing to open-world and management racing games.

In the future, Eden Games may be in charge of developing Animoca’s Racing ecosystem’s existing games as well as “a series” of new racing games.

Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, commented on the acquisition: “With its quarter of a century of expertise in building high-quality motorsport video games, Eden Games will enhance and accelerate the development of the REVV Motorsport ecosystem and add powerful value to the REVV community and the racing metaverse.”

The ecosystem contains the NFT-powered racing game REVV, as well as MotoGP: Ignition, Formula E: High Voltage, and Torque Drift, which are all built on Polygon. All of Animoca’s racing games are based around the REVV token and are play-to-earn experiences.

The Eden Games acquisition comes less than a month after Animoca suddenly shut down F1 Delta Time, its legally licensed Formula 1 game. After Animoca failed to renew the league license, the game was forced to shut down.

As a result, Animoca gave REVV Racing NFTs as free replacements for players who had purchased REVV Racing NFTs for F1 Delta Time, as well as a Race Pass NFT that gives access to benefits like token staking.

“The new games will provide additional utility to the NFT Race Passes and the other assets obtained by swapping assets from Animoca Brands’ F1 Delta Time,” the firm stated.
