Bored Ape Metaverse Launch Date Set For April 30

The upcoming ‘Otherside’ Bored Ape metaverse launch date is set for 12pm ET on April 30th.

The Otherside metaverse Discord is also now open which already has over 76,000 members. The news was tweeted out by @OthersideMeta, a Yuga Labs affiliated Twitter account.

Today is also the one-year anniversary of BAYC NFTs being minted. They were briefly available for 0.08 ETH each at presale for early investors on April 23rd, 2021.

Since then they’ve hit an all-time high floor price of 125 ETH, a gain of 1562x in value. The price of Ethereum is also about 25% higher now as it was $2400 at the time.

The Mutant Ape Yacht Club have also hit a new ATH this week.

ApeCoin Utility in the Bored Ape Metaverse

Everything BAYC or Bored Ape metaverse is stealing the show in April as ApeCoin has also hit $18.44 today on Binance, looking as if it may make an impulse move to the upside and retest its all-time high.

Since ApeCoin (APE) will power the Bored Ape metaverse as its governance token, investors are speculating it could be worth a lot more in the future.

Leaked slides from a BAYC metaverse presentation stated that 200,000 land plots of virtual land in Otherside will be up for sale.

The concept of buying land, represented by NFTs, in a metaverse became popular with the Decentraland and Sandbox metaverses. Land owners then usually receive additional perks and voting rights in the direction of the metaverse project, which in the case of Otherside will be overseen by decentralized autonomous organization ApeCoin DAO.

If land buying and selling is exclusively to be done in the APE digital currency, then it should be in high demand and hence the current circulating supply should increase in valuation. At this point that’s rumor and speculation, although it would make sense and buyers seem to think so.

Other BAYC News

There will also be an ApeFest 2022 event in Manhattan on June 20-23, at the same time as NFT.NYC, the leading annual non-fungible token conference event.

An even larger turnout is expected than the 2021 event had.

In December 2021 it was also announced that Adidas may be involved with the Bored Ape metaverse project in some form of partnership. Recently they released an ‘Into the Metaverse’ NFT collection in collaboration with BAYC, and worked with metaverse avatar creation platform Ready Player Me.
