Meta has unveiled its first physical store, allowing customers to try out the company’s equipment firsthand. The stores will open in Burlingame, California on May 9. Portal, Ray-Ban Stories, and the Quest 2 VR headset will be offered at the store. On the Meta website, the company has also added a shop tab.

Users will be able to try out demos of a variety of products and services, including video calls and VR headset experience, during the hands-on experience. According to Martin Gilliard, the Head of Meta Store:

“Once people experience the technology, they can gain a better appreciation for it. If we did our job right, people should leave and tell their friends, ‘You’ve got to go check out the Meta Store.’”

The company said that the metaverse is a key component of this effort which emphasizes the importance of launching the store near its Reality Labs offices. Gilliard stated that the company would integrate what it learned from the hardware shop into its long-term strategy.

The company is clearly going to convince people to test out its Metaverse concepts. It is gradually going into that area while maintaining a strong focus on social interactions.

The social media giant has been in the headlines a lot lately for its work in the metaverse, and the business has stated that this is its top focus. It is spending so heavily in this program that it has spent billions of dollars into it.

Given that the metaverse market might be valued $678 billion by 2030, this is not surprising.

The launch of a currency in the company’s Horizon Worlds VR app is one of the company’s recent advancements. It’s possible that it’ll be employed in future versions of Facebook and Instagram, and the team has dubbed it Zuck Bucks. The company is also attempting to get content creators to sell their work through their apps.

A series of AI initiatives is one of the more exciting advancements. Mark Zuckerberg presented a smart assistant and a builder bot during an Inside the Lab event to aid in the development of the metaverse experience.
