Solana Ventures, the investment arm of Solana Labs, has teamed up with decentralized gaming firm Yield Guild Games (YGG SEA) to boost game development in Southeast Asia.
Yield Guild Games Southeast Asia (YGG SEA), the first subDAO of Yield Guild Games (YGG), has forged a new relationship with Solana Ventures, Solana Labs’ investment arm, according to an official release.
The collaboration is also part of a $500,000 private financing round for YGG SEA co-led by Solana Ventures. It comes only days after YGG SEA received $15 million in two separate private investment rounds.
The funds will be used to offer the required resources and to speed up game development and product launches in Southeast Asia, which has a large gaming community.
Because Southeast Asia’s gaming community is a vital element of the worldwide video game business, Solana’s cooperation with YGG SEA is a critical step toward the company’s eventual objective of expanding in the area.
South East Asia is expected to have around 25 million e-sports and gaming fans. The increase can be attributed in part to the pandemic’s lockdowns, which caused individuals to stay at home and turn to gaming platforms.
