Iran opens war on BTC mining by seizing 7,000 BTC machines

Iran Opens Bitcoin Mining War When Government Seizes 7000 Machines From Abandoned Factory, As We Read More On Bitcoin News Today.

The Iranian authorities have seized around 7,000 cryptocurrency miners with the latest developments in line with the Iranian campaign to combat illegal BTC mining operations. According to Reuters, General Hossein Rahimi, Tehran’s police chief, revealed that computer miners had been found in an abandoned factory in the Iranian capital that was mining money.

The latest arrest is the largest made by the Iranian authorities. In January, the Iranian government seized more than 1,500 unlicensed mining operations, while in the same month they seized an additional 45,000 BTC mining facilities. Iran is starting the war harder than ever, but because of the cheap electricity in the country, a huge influx of BTC miners has come into the country. An elliptical study shows that Iran is responsible for more than 4% of the BTC mined.

However, the government appears to be making it difficult for the mining sector as various activities target illegal miners and mining activities have affected the country’s power supply according to the government’s temporary ban on BTC mining until September 2021 and the country has even announced miners for to punish the use of electricity. While Iran curbs illegal BTC mining activities, China is conducting nationwide crackdown on the sector, with regions like Inner Mongolia, Yunnan and Xinjiang posting a notice urging miners to shut down all operations. The crackdown on miners has caused the hash rate to drop by 50%.

Just like we reported recently, the Iranian government has reported that it has banned a local blockchain association and that the cryptocurrency warning list is the main cause of the ban, according to the head of Iran’s blockchain community. The Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Iran has blocked many activities by the Iranian blockchain community, but the association claims it did not receive any direct notification. The Ministry’s Social Affairs Organization requested reports on the IBC’s financial activities and transactions with cryptocurrency exchanges through a notice published weekly in the local newspaper Hamshahri Online, according to local sources.
