GEF Metaverse Council is launched by the Global Esports Federation

The Global Esports Federation (GEF), the organization in charge of promoting the integrity, legitimacy, and prestige of esports around the world, has launched its own division to delve into Web3. The new committee, dubbed the ‘GEF Metaverse Council,’ would strive to bring together the expertise of a diverse range of thought leaders and creators from across the Web3 space in order to quickly get its blockchain gaming ball moving.

The Global Esports Federation has launched a metaverse council to “work on defining tangible metaverse development projects for our global community,” with the objective of becoming formally recognized as the governing organization for the esports ecosystem.

The council is to be made up of blockchain experts, NFT developers, and social media influencers. Paul  J. Foster, CEO of the GEF, commented:

“We’ve established the GEF Metaverse Council to cultivate ideas, voice, and shape to our metaverse reality; and to access the limitless opportunities for our entire #worldconnected community”

The collection of hive-minded Web3 actors to be consulted by the council is comprised of crypto and NFT project developers, creative directors, domain experts, and social influencers within the space. Hugo Philion, the CEO and Founder of Flare (GEF’s global partner for blockchain ecosystems), will chair the council, with Melvin Kuek, Senior Advisor of the GEF, serving as its Vice-Chair.

According to its whitepaper, Flare claims to offer a “scaling method for smart contract networks without relying on economic safety mechanisms.” In speaking on the door-opening initiative, Philion had this to say:

“Esports presents boundless potential and a world of opportunities for blockchain applications. I look forward to collaborating with the team, empowering individuals and communities to take better control of their collective futures and experiences, and interact with each other in ways not previously possible”.

The Global Esports Federation (GEF) metaverse council took off on a very right footing as it has onboarded quite a number of prominent figures in the space.

Some of the members of the new organization include Oxskellymode, NFT influencer and co-founder of Enigma Ventures; Sabertooth, director of Tiger Vision Global Pty Ltd and founder of the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) project Attack Tigers!; Melty Tanti, founder and creative director of Play & Earn (P&E) metaverse project Jambo Mambo; and MingWeiRocks, one of Asia’s top TikTok creators with over 22 million followers.

Metaverse-related development has recently been on the horizon for a number of brands. Riding the train is a significant agenda for many entertainment corporations across the world today as the new frontier in the coming Web3.0 world, and the metaverse council can assist ease the transition into accepting these advancements for e-sports groups much easier.
