Meta Apes launches on BNB sidechain

The free money-making strategy game, Meta Apes, has become the first crypto game to launch on BNB’s latest Binance Application Sidechain (BAS).

Derived from the popular Age of Apes mobile game, Meta Apes is built using Ankr’s Blockchain Game Software Development Kit (SDK). This technology platform allows game studios to offer Web3 and in-game crypto.

Through Meta Apes, Ankr launches the first version on Binance Smart Chain (BSC). The provider promises to create an amazing Web3 game experience, from NFT to in-game marketplace and multi-chain wallet integration.

Meta Apes – a free-to-play, play-to-earn MMO strategy game designed for a mobile-first experience – is delighted to announce that it has become the first game to go live on the BNB Application Sidechain (BAS), a sidechain in the ecosystem that offers greater flexibility and efficiency for developers.

They can transfer data and assets from BNB Chain, alleviating resource congestion and limited transactions of the network. These sidechains will also be application-specific, meaning individual sidechains will focus on specific use cases.

In addition, the game’s ecosystem includes reward tokens, a staking platform, and a wide range of NFT collectibles. The Meta Apes staking platform allows users to wrap MAPES tokens and stake them together with NFT to earn more MAPES and participate in the weekly raffle.

Business Lead at Meta Apes, Taylor Shim said:

“Meta Apes was born out of this idea of creating a community-oriented game that offers both audiences something valuable – an opportunity for the traditional gamers to earn & truly own their in-game assets and a much more interactive and enjoyable experience to the blockchain gamers who are primarily looking to earn.”

She added:

“Building on an application-focused sidechain helps us avoid a lot of the common issues seen in blockchain gaming like network congestion and giving us a lot more flexibility in terms of game design & tokenomics.”

In many ways, the BAS infrastructure allows developers to build large-scale BSC-based applications with increased throughput and significantly reduced transaction fees. This can be used as an internal value system for many applications, offloading traffic from the BSC Mainnet while still connecting to the BNB Chain.
