Qatar Airways has just revealed that it is hatching plans to release NFT and sell metaverse tickets (QVerse) for actual flights. “Travel-To-Earn” become a trend in the future?
Qatar Airways has launched its first Metaverse called QVerse. The platform allows interested parties to visit and navigate the premium check-in area at Hamad International Airport (HIA).
However, QVerse is just the company’s first foray into the metaverse space. This “world’s best airline” intends to develop many more initiatives and believes that the Metaverse is part of the future of human relationships.
“We believe virtual reality is the future. Metaverse will empower people, broaden horizons and break boundaries by challenging current barriers.”
According to the company, joining the Metaverse is to meet the wishes of passengers. Before deciding to buy a ticket, they are often eager to know what plane they will travel on.
“That’s why we believe QVerse will change the way passengers make shopping choices.”
Company representative stated
The company plans to add more functions, locations, and interactions to its Metaverse through the Oculus Quest VR platform, such as seat selection for physical fliers. The company also allows similar actions through the Decentraland metaverse portal and The Sandbox.
“We are more focused on building our Metaverse than investing in Decentraland or Sandbox. But we also do not rule out this plan. We will continue to explore how to develop this field and incorporate NFT into QVerse.”
Airlines across the globe have begun looking to integrate blockchain and cryptocurrency payment systems. Last year, Qatar Airways became the first airline in the Middle East to adopt the IATA blockchain’s “Digital Passport”, in partnership with the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
In May, the largest airline in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is planning to launch Bitcoin (BTC) payments and launch and open NFT trading. Emirates is embracing and grasping the Metaverse and NFT as an essential stepping stone in its strategy to expand its reach soon.
As has been updated in previous articles of Coincu News, travel with cryptocurrency is applied by travel companies and apps such as Travala and Travel Care.
Not only a plan, but this idea has been realized with the new Web 3 project Luxworld. The project was born with the mission of connecting people closer together.
With just a few simple steps, you can enter the world of Luxworld. Not only can you connect with other members, but you can also earn money from your passion for travel and contribute to building green tourism activities, protecting the world from toxic tourism activities.
LuxWorld has three game modes. Accordingly, with Journey Mode, players only need to use NFT Luggage/Node and perform check-in to earn rewards easily. In addition, users also have the opportunity to become members and enjoy preferential privileges for members of brands and brands that provide Check-in Node locations.
Cryptocurrency travel helps users save on trips because it eliminates all worries about exchange rates and enhances your experience by performing tasks to earn extra income.
With such creations, is it possible that the “Move-to-Earn” continuation will be the “Travel-To-Earn” trend when blockchain is increasingly used in the travel industry?
