Blockchain.com introduces cryptocurrency transactions based on username

The large crypto wallet provider Blockchain.com integrates with unstoppable domains to simplify crypto deposits for its customers.

Unstoppable Domains announced Thursday that it has built in native support for Blockchain.com, allowing its 32 million verified users to send funds using usernames instead of full crypto wallet addresses.

This initiative aims to eliminate the risk of human error when sending funds and to simplify transactions between users of Blockchain.com and more than 50 other wallets and exchanges supported by Unstoppable Domains, including Coinbase Wallet, MyEtherWallet, and others.

The integration allows users to send cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) via a human-readable recipient domain instead of a 25- to 42-digit alphanumeric wallet address. This helps protect users from typographical or related errors.

“Our integration with Blockchain.com shows an ‘address is invalid’ message when the address is not linked to a wallet,” Matthew Gould, founder and CEO of Unstoppable Domains, told Cointelegraph.

Gould says there is no specific character length for domain wallet addresses. “We only recommend choosing a domain that is easy to read and remember. It could be your first and last name, your nickname, your company name, ”he notes.

Connected: Unstoppable Domains .crypto sites are now available through the Brave browser

The news comes when Unstoppable Domains has reached a major milestone and the company is selling more than a million domains created as unusable tokens (NFTs) in the chain. Along with sending and receiving funds, these NFT domains with the .crypto extension are used to create decentralized websites to post content and access Web3.
