Elon Musk To Integrate Crypto Payments Into Twitter?

According to a recent leak, Elon Musk is planning to add more payment features to Twitter, including a cryptocurrency option.

Elon Musk integrates crypto payments into Twitter

On June 16, Elon Musk had a meeting with Twitter employees to discuss how he would run the company when he took over successfully. According to a meeting minutes disclosed by Vox, the billionaire shared his thoughts that money is essentially a form of information and digital payments that have become increasingly popular in recent years.

Mr. Musk said:

“I think it would be very helpful to integrate payments into Twitter. The feature will make it easy for anyone to send money back and forth. And if there are both fiat money as well as cryptocurrency on the platform, that would be great. So my goal would be to maximize the usefulness of the service. And if people can use it to make payments conveniently, that’s an increase in usefulness.”

Twitter rolled out a Bitcoin tip function last fall and later added Ether to its mobile app.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO said convenient forms of payment are part of a grand strategy to keep customers coming back to use their services.

“It is a combination of three important areas including news, entertainment and payments. But really, how to use Twitter so compelling that you can’t live without it and everyone wants to use it is a problem that needs further development.”

The above comments come as the billionaire’s $44 billion takeover of Twitter is still pending. From fake news to spam, bots once made him “pause” his intention to buy this social networking platform. Despite signing an agreement with Twitter’s board in early 2022, Musk still claims that he has every right to reconsider.

Even in early June, he “threatened” to pull out of the deal because Twitter did not want to reveal more information about its user base. There are also rumors that Elon Musk will accept payment for some social network services with Dogecoin (DOGE).

Last night, Elon Musk, Tesla and SpaceX are being sued by an American investor for allegedly cheating investors into DOGE coin and causing heavy damage.
