SAHARA RANK #656About Sahara AI
Sahara AI is a decentralised platform focused on creating an open and collaborative AI ecosystem where developers, data providers, and users can co-create, share, and monetise AI assets. Built on a layered architecture supported by the Sahara Blockchain, it ensures secure provenance, user sovereignty, and transparent attribution. The native token, SAHARA, is used for transaction fees, licensing AI assets, rewarding developers and validators, governance participation via the Sahara DAO, payments for AI services, and distributing royalties. Founded by Sean Ren and Tyler Zhou in 2023, Sahara AI is guided by the Sahara Foundation, with governance progressively transitioning to the community.
What is Sahara AI?
Sahara AI is a decentralised blockchain-based platform designed to build an open, collaborative, and equitable AI ecosystem. The platform aims to address challenges in the current AI landscape, where development and control are concentrated among a small number of large organisations. Sahara AI does this by creating a transparent, decentralised environment where developers, data providers, and users can co-create, share, and monetise AI assets.
The platform offers infrastructure for the entire AI lifecycle, including data collection, model training, agent creation, and deployment. Through its layered architecture—comprising Application, Transaction, Data, and Execution layers—Sahara AI provides tools for both technical and non-technical users to develop and use AI models and applications. The Sahara Blockchain, a Layer 1 chain (currently in testnet) built on a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism, underpins provenance, access control, and transaction management across the platform.
Sahara AI emphasises user sovereignty, secure data management, and transparent attribution of contributions, supporting a revenue-sharing model among participants. The platform also supports community-driven governance via the Sahara DAO, with the initial development guided by the Sahara Foundation.
