What is the unique selling point?
DeRace is a platform that simulates real-life horse racing and gives players the ultimate horse racing experience. It contains not only the race itself but also other parts of the industry.
Horse owners can own, breed, and trade horses as well as compete in races. Hippodromes host races andcompete against each other to attract participants.
Like real-life racehorses, DeRace horses have different traits that define their rarity,performance, cool-down time, and ultimately value. They are 100% one of the kind. A horse is a valuable asset that allows you to participate in races and earn payouts.
Every NFT horse has a set of visible and hidden characteristics:
Visible: sex, color, shape, breed, breeding and racing cool-down
Hidden: speed and stamina
Speed and stamina are the key factors of winning the race. Speed and stamina can be speculated from horse appearance, bloodline (parent genetics), and previous race statistics.
Example of NFThorsecharacteristics:
They use NFT technology to create and differentiate every horse in the game. Horses are stored as NFT tokens. Horses can be bought in NFT marketplaces (in-game or third party) or created through breeding.
Every NFT horse’s data is visible to the public. Users can inspect horse appearance, check horse race history and bloodline. Family trees allow users to navigate through horse ancestry.
The NFT horses will have a level system. The level will depend on the races participated, races won, and overall activity on the platform. Higher the level, the higher the price. The horses can compete in hippodromes with same-level horses.
NFT horse breeding
Two NFT tokens create a third NFT token. The player selects 2 NFT horses for breeding. One must be male, another female. Both horses breeding cool-down must be at 0.
Each horse has its unique features that affect how the horse looks, breeds, and performs on a racetrack. All physical characteristics, sex, and breedingcool–down are visible for users.
Both NFT horse tokens are sent to GA (Genetic Algorithm) via Ethereum smart contract. GA generates a third NFT horsecombining genes from parent horses, with +- 5% deviation (RNG factor is applied). That means that even if both parents had the property of speed 20 – their child’s speed can be in norms from 19 to 21.
3rd generated NFT horse and parent horses are sent back to the corresponding user wallet via smart contract.
NFT horses can be sold in the in-game marketplace or any other NFT marketplace. The owner has complete control of their NFT horses and DeRace coins stored in an assigned wallet.
The payer can buy both randomly generated or bred horses with a bloodline and race history. The horses (pre-purchased or bred) can be sold for a fixed price or via auction.
If the user decides to buy a horse from the marketplace for a fixed price, DeRace coins are being written off from their wallet. Purchased NFT horses are accounted to their wallet
If the user has purchased a horse for a fixed price from another user. NFT horse ownership is reassigned to the corresponding buyer’s wallet. DeRace coins are reassigned to the user that sold the horse.
All the in-game assets are represented in selected currency – fiat or crypto. However, all the transactions are made exclusively in DeRace Coins, which guarantees constant token volume and circulating supply.
A set amount of horses participate in each race. Every horse owner can participate in a hippodrome race for a set fee. The hippodrome selects its participants by pre-set parameters. The winning horse collects % of all participant fees and additional prizes.
The races are based on RNG technology, therefore the winner of the race is random. The speed and stamina parameters play a role – it might influence the win but does not guarantee it.
Each speed parameter point gives a chance to win diluted by the total amount of participants’ speed sum. The RNG algorithm is widely used in video games, statistical sampling, computer simulation, cryptography, etc
The player selects the race to participate in from the upcoming races section. Players can filter upcoming races by date, game rules, entry fee, player quantity, hosting hippodrome, and winning pool.
The player pays a participation fee. After the race, the winner is announced and DeRace coins are allocated to the winners’ account. After the race, the horse racing cool-down begins.
All horse races take place in hippodromes. Hippodrome ownership is set in NFT hippodrome tokens. One hippodrome contains 10 000 individual NFT tokens, therefore, the player can own a part of the whole hippodrome.
Owning more than 5,000 (more than 50%) tokens guarantees you a right to administrate hippodrome races. Therefore administrators of hippodromes are called bookmakers.
Bookmakers choose how and when to host the races in their hippodrome. The races can be made public, comply with certain requirements (for example have certain a winning history), or via invite (for specific users). The bookmaker controls the race entry fee and winner prize fund.
All hippodromes have the same parameters, meaning, the owners can advertise their hippodromes to other players. It can be done in the game or outside the game (for example Telegram). DeRace controls the number of both created and active hippodromes at all times.
There will be a level system for hippodromes. Levels will depend on races held, overall activity, etc. The hippodrome might lose a level if it’s inactive.
The levels will unlock different types of surfaces and add a number of horses allowed in the race. That allows users to create different types of races with more horses.
Hippodrome profits are paid to users according to their share of ownership (Tokens). 1 Token means – 0.01%
After the race, the horse owner and the owners of a hippodrome automatically get a payout of their winnings. The payout system is fully auto-calculated, therefore there is no place for manipulation or fraud. It is based on preset algorithms, guaranteeing there is no room for miscalculations.
The owners of hippodromes can play without actually being online. There is no need to administrate the races, they can be run completely automatically. The owners of the horses can register their horses for future races, which can also happen with them being offline.
GA (genetic algorithm) is similar to how biological genetics work in reality, where genes — your DNA — store information about the rest of your body. For example eye, skin and hair color, hair structure, body type, and height. In a GA, numbers represent various characteristics.
Combining NFT with Ethereum smart contract allows Derace to breed horses (in a GA, it is called a crossover). It creates another unique token out of the other two, keeping some of the information (features) previous tokens had written in the smart contract.
Half of the father’s genome and the other half of the mother’s genome are set into a new, and unique offspring genome. The exact split of the genes can differ each time in the crossover, meaning that even two siblings will have unique genomes. Just like in real life.
The key here is understanding that representing a genome is as simple as storing a few numbers. The crossover is a piece of code that takes two numbers(parent genomes) as input and produces a single number as an output (child genome).
On the Ethereum blockchain, they can store data (like a genome), and perform calculations with that data using Smart Contracts.
Controlled RNG technology
A random number generator (RNG) is an algorithm that generates a sequence of numbers or symbols that cannot be reasonably predicted better than by a random chance.
Controlled RNG is an algorithm that works in pre-set boundaries. For example, it generates a random number in the set range from 0 to 10 or from 20 to 60.
RNG is a defining factor in many modern games. Randomness is what keeps things from becoming monotonous. It’s what leads to curiosity and risk, and it’s one of the best tools to keep a game fresh. The DeRace Controlled RNG algorithm is used for breeding and racing.
In horse breeding, GA generates the third NFT horse combining genes from parent horses, with +- 5% deviation (RNG factor is applied). That means that even if both parents had the property of speed 20 – their child’s speed can be in norms from 19 to 21.
In racing, the RNG algorithm will choose a winner out of all participating horses of the race. Horses with higher speed have a higher chance of winning. But since it’s an RNG-based game even the slowest horse has a small chance to win.
Third-party betting and streaming solution
DeRace’s ecosystem will be enriched with 3rd party betting solutions. They will integrate a betting provider (one or multiple) for the execution of bets.
Also, they will create an API for horse racing streaming platforms, online casinos, and betting venues to integrate DeRace horse races in their existing solutions.
The betting solution completes the whole DeRace NFT horse racing ecosystem.
One of DeRace’s core user experience philosophies is to provide players diverse ways to easily and instantly earn DeRace Coins (DERC). All player earnings are paid out only in DeRace coins.
