What is Aavegotchi?

Aavegotchi is a Metaverse game that allows players to raise virtual pets based on NFT technology from the Ethereum blockchain, combined with Aave's lending mechanism. You can imagine Aavegochi like virtual pet games that appeared in Vietnam from about 2003-2004.

Aavegotchi combines both NFT and DeFi with Metaverse  (virtual world), giving players a unique experience when participating in the game. So what characteristics help Aavegotchi do that? The answer will be found in the next section.

Intrinsic value

Each of Aavegotchi's ERC721 NFTs connects to an address containing ERC20 collateral (or “ aToken ”) on Aave. aToken will generate yield and the number of aToken contained in your NFT will increase over time.

In other words, if you stake 10 aDAI, then the intrinsic value of that NFT will be 10 aDAI plus the amount of rewards generated from Aave's pool (the more you hold the value of the NFT).

Game mechanics

Aavegotchi's game mechanics are very interesting when you can bring NFTs to participate in mini games, and there are many factors that affect the value and performance of NFTs in the game, which can be mentioned as follows:

• Randomness: Depending on your luck, you can summon NFTs with different rarity.
• Interaction: The more you interact with your NFT, the more their value increases and vice versa.
• Accessories and consumables: NFTs can be equipped with accessories and use consumables to increase or decrease in-game stats.
• Rarity farming: Unlike normal NFT games, rarity is not a fixed value in Aavegotchi - it can change over time depending on how much "care" you have for your NFT. Players are rewarded for having the rarest NFT.
