What is Chain (XCN)?
Chain is a cloud blockchain infrastructure that enables organizations to build better financial services from the ground up. Chain has launched Chain Core, which is an open source and licensed chain and Sequence, the balance management ledger product. Customers can receive discounts and pay trade fees in native XCN tokens, as well as participate in community protocol governance and access premium features.
Founded in 2014, however in 2020, Chain was acquired by Stellar to make it a mission to build a stronger global financial system with Sequence.
Highlights of the Sequence project
Sequence is a ledger service for managing balances. It combines the power of a token-based data model with the convenience of the cloud, making it easy to build, operate, and scale products with future thinking. Sequence can securely track any type of value, allowing software teams to focus on shipping and scaling their products rather than building and maintaining ledger infrastructure.
Sequence is used as a recording system by many companies including mobile wallets, crypto asset exchanges, lending platforms, sharing economy apps, payment services, websites sponsors, asset managers, etc. Any application that needs to record transactions and calculate balances can benefit from using Sequences.
Chain has launched Chain Core which is an open source and licensed blockchain. Powered by Sequence, Chain's ledger as a service platform. Customers can receive discounts and pay trade fees in Chain Tokens (XCN) as well as participate in community protocol governance and access premium features.
Using Chain Core: Organizations can launch and operate a blockchain network or connect to a growing list of other networks that are transforming the way assets move around the world. The Chain protocol defines how assets are issued, transferred, and controlled on the blockchain network. It allows an entity or group of organizations to operate a network, support the coexistence of multiple asset classes, and can interact with other independent networks. Chain Core is designed to achieve the performance required by modern financial systems. Time to create, sign and validate transactions is measured in milliseconds.
