The team previously announced it would move from Harmony to Klaytn in August. On December 8, DeFi Kingdoms officially relaunched its Serendale realm on Klaytn, and the revamped game will feature a new utility token, JADE.
According to Klaytn announcement on Thursday, the revamped Serendale realm from DeFi Kingdoms is now available on the Klaytn metaverse blockchain. The new utility token, JADE, will be minted through a native DEX and used for all game-related features in Serendale.
The play-to-earn game was previously situated in Harmony but announced plans to shift to Klaytn in August. It is recognized for its nostalgic 16-bit classic RPG game graphics.
Serendale’s relaunch can be considered a significant event in the development of the game. Although Serendale has relocated, the Crystalvale realm will continue to be located on the DFK Chain, an Avalanche subnet.
In just one day, the Klaytn-based part of the game has been accessed by over 4,260 unique active wallets, according to DappRadar, while activity on Harmony-Serendale has wound down over the last few months.
The partnership with DeFi Kingdoms will potentially act as a catalyst for the reinforcement of Klaytn’s global presence and liquidity. However, the terms of the partnership have not been disclosed.
