Kraken opened Jersey Mike’s IPO access to retail investors on July 28, 2026, letting eligible U.S. customers submit interest in real book-entry shares while non-U.S. users in more than 110 countries can apply for tokenized JMKEx exposure through xStocks.

What Kraken confirmed about Jersey Mike’s IPO access

Kraken says eligible U.S. customers can submit interest in real, book-entry Jersey Mike’s shares (JMKE) at the same indicated offering price of $21 to $25. The exchange framed the move as opening IPO allocation directly to retail buyers.

Kraken’s launch post frames retail IPO access around the same price range disclosed for the Jersey Mike’s offering.

Eligible customers outside the U.S. in more than 110 countries can submit a non-binding indication of interest through xStocks, Kraken said. The rollout was announced on July 28, 2026 through the company’s product blog and official social channels.

The official announcement positions xStocks as Kraken’s path for non-U.S. retail participants to express IPO interest across a broad international footprint.

Kraken cast the launch as a break from a market it said had historically been gated by wealth or geography. Its official X post argued that most retail investors had been shut out of IPO allocations until now.

Why Kraken split the offer between JMKE shares and JMKEx tokens

The structure divides participants by jurisdiction. U.S. customers who are allocated receive real, book-entry Jersey Mike’s shares under the JMKE ticker, while non-U.S. customers allocated through xStocks receive JMKEx, described by Kraken as a 1:1 backed tokenized equity.

The distinction matters because the two routes deliver different instruments. One is direct ownership of the underlying IPO stock; the other is tokenized exposure that tracks the equity rather than conferring conventional share ownership.

Kraken’s xStocks documentation says the tokens are tokenized representations of real U.S. stocks and ETFs, backed 1:1 by the underlying equity held in regulated custody. The tokens are issued onchain across Solana, Ethereum, TON, and Ink, with Solana serving as the base chain for the xStocks lineup.

Importantly, the non-U.S. path is a non-binding indication of interest, not a guaranteed allocation identical to a direct share purchase. Kraken has partnered with GTN to expand global capital market access through xStocks, underscoring the distribution focus behind the token route.

Why this matters beyond one IPO

The Jersey Mike’s listing is one piece of a wider push. Payward, Kraken’s parent, framed the rollout as a broader launch of IPO access and an expansion of xStocks to U.S. retail investors, combining primary-market allocation with tokenized secondary distribution.

That combination is the strategic point. Pairing IPO access with an onchain distribution rail lets Kraken reach both domestic buyers seeking real shares and international users who can only receive tokenized exposure, widening the addressable base for a single offering.

CoinDesk reported on July 22, 2026 that Payward was expanding tokenized-stock access to Hong Kong, UK, and South Korea equities. That coverage centered on geographic equity expansion, not the Jersey Mike’s-specific allocation terms, the JMKE-versus-JMKEx split, or the 110+ country eligibility framing detailed here.

The expansion arrives as exchanges broaden regulated product menus; Binance, for instance, is set to launch a new spot trading pair on July 30, 2026, reflecting the same competitive push toward wider retail access.

What remains conditional for retail buyers

Submitting interest does not guarantee an allocation. Kraken describes the non-U.S. route explicitly as a non-binding indication of interest, meaning applicants may receive partial fills or none depending on demand and the final book.

Rights differ by instrument as well. Kraken’s xStocks FAQ says the tokens do not confer standard shareholder rights such as voting or cash dividends, even though they are backed 1:1 by the underlying equity.

Geographic eligibility remains a gating factor throughout. U.S. customers are directed to book-entry JMKE shares, while the JMKEx token route is reserved for eligible participants across the 110+ qualifying countries, subject to local availability.

FAQ: Jersey Mike’s IPO access on Kraken

Who can apply for JMKE shares on Kraken? Eligible U.S. customers can submit interest in real, book-entry Jersey Mike’s shares under the JMKE ticker at the indicated offering range disclosed by Kraken.

What is JMKEx and how does it differ from the IPO shares? JMKEx is the tokenized equity form offered to eligible non-U.S. customers through xStocks. It is backed 1:1 by the underlying stock in regulated custody but does not carry standard shareholder rights like voting or dividends.

Does applying guarantee an allocation? No. Kraken describes the non-U.S. route as a non-binding indication of interest, so submitting interest does not guarantee that a buyer will be allocated shares or tokens.
