USD1 to Support Payments and Settlements

USD1 will be used to handle payments and settlements on Spacecoin’s system. The stablecoin is designed to support real-world financial activity.

Zak Folkman, Co-Founder of WLFI, said,

“USD1 is intended to support payment and settlement activity in the real world, and partnerships like this are focused on exploring payments, settlement, and coordination in environments where traditional financial rails may be limited.”

The collaboration is expected to bring financial services to areas where banking systems are unavailable or limited.

Satellite Infrastructure Already in Operation

Spacecoin has launched three satellites into low-Earth orbit. These satellites form part of a growing system to provide internet access from space.

The company’s approach uses blockchain-based technology to deliver permissionless internet. The network is designed to serve remote areas without relying on traditional infrastructure.

Tae Oh, Founder of Spacecoin, said,

“Our mission is to provide connectivity to everyone, everywhere, but that is only half the battle. True digital freedom also requires access to robust, fair, and open financial services.”

Joint Work on Token Swap System

Spacecoin and WLFI are developing a token swap system. This system is intended to help users carry out payments and transactions directly over the satellite network.

By combining financial tools with satellite-based access, the project aims to support digital activity in disconnected regions. Both teams plan to continue building products that support digital access beyond traditional networks.
