Verdict

Scoped to where Classic Cryptoback still operates — the UK, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan — Wirex Card is a competent low-fee multi-currency debit card. No annual fee, 0% marketed FX minus the conversion spread, free issuance, and a free monthly ATM allowance hold up. The rewards case does not. A free-tier user earns 0.5% in WXT, a volatile token, and reaching 8% requires a €29.99/mo Elite plan, a multimillion-WXT lockup, and acceptance of a 250,000 WXT monthly cap. In the EEA and Australia the entire crypto side of the Classic card ended on Jun. 30, 2026, and the replacement product, Wirex One, ships with undisclosed rates — meaning the headline reward is void in the card's two biggest regions and the go-forward product can't yet be priced. Spenders in the four still-live markets who want a fee-light travel card get value here. Anyone shopping for the 8% should treat it as a marketing ceiling, not a rate they will collect.

  • Free tier pays 0.5%, in volatile WXT

  • 0% FX still carries a conversion spread
