Members of the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX’s inner circle created a chat group named “Wirefraud” and used it to share sensitive information about operations in the run-up to the company’s spectacular failure.
Parts of the message exchanges between Mr. Bankman-Fried and his inner circle are expected to be mentioned in the proceedings, especially since the chat group was given the moniker “Wirefraud.”
The fact that the company’s leaders had a discussion group dubbed “Wirefraud” raises questions about the possibility of misconduct by Mr. Bankman-Fried and his colleagues.
However, the founder of the collapsed exchange then stated that he has never heard of such a group.
A few days ago, the FTX founder had an interview with BCC saying he hopes to launch a new company in order to generate enough revenue to compensate FTX collapse victims. Currently, Mr. Bankman-Fried is set to testify on December 13 before the US House Financial Services Committee – the first of two congressional hearings investigating the collapse.
