The Ethereum Foundation, following an overwhelming response of 243 applications for its “Run a Node Grants Round” program, has selected 35 recipients hailing from 23 different countries to operate nodes.

Among the diverse group of awardees are prominent entities like ETHKL, SDSU Distributed System Security Laboratory, and Franklin DAO/Penn Blockchain, alongside notable educational institutions such as Stanford University, MIT, and the University of Champagnat in Argentina.

35 Recipients Lead Global Innovation Wave!

Designed to foster diversity and innovation within the blockchain space, the Run a Node Grants Round program aims to support various initiatives, including educational exploration, community efforts, and research endeavors. The 35 chosen recipients, spanning the globe from Ethereum Guatemala to the Technical University of Munich Blockchain Club, reflect the Foundation’s commitment to inclusivity.

The program encourages participants to go beyond merely running validators and explore diverse ideas for running nodes. This includes conducting research data queries, examining node performance under challenging conditions, and enhancing the overall node user experience. The Ethereum Foundation emphasizes the importance of fostering a dynamic and exploratory environment within the blockchain community.

To be eligible for the program, applicants must demonstrate a fast and stable internet connection, technical proficiency in nodes and clients, and a commitment to running a node for a minimum of two years. The Foundation prioritized unique proposals from geographically diverse regions, student blockchain clubs, and academic institutions during the evaluation process.

With an emphasis on inclusivity and innovation, the Ethereum Foundation’s Run a Node Grants Round not only supports the selected recipients but also contributes to the broader goal of advancing blockchain exploration, research, and community engagement on a global scale.
